Boreham Wood manager Ian Allinson insists there is no pressure on his side as they look to cause an FA Cup upset at Woking this weekend.

Wood are enjoying their best start to a Conference South campaign this season but Allinson’s side still head into Saturday's fourth qualifying round tie as underdogs against a Woking side sitting third in the Conference.

Allinson told the club website: “It’s an opportunity to have a free shot at it. We know we will need a bit of luck but we go into this as underdogs. Unlike our games in previous rounds there is no pressure on the players.

“We saw with both East Preston and Frome Town that the FA Cup is a great leveller. We have a full squad to pick from and that is important.

“We will be well organised and well drilled against a side that has been expertly assembled by Garry Hill who has a fine track record of doing that.”

Wood are aiming to reach the first round proper for the third successive season.

Allinson’s side went out in a replay last year after holding Carlisle United to a 0-0 draw at home.

Wood’s excellent league form continued on Saturday as they cruised to a 3-0 win at nine-man Hayes & Yeading United.

The victory leaves the side second in the table and just two points behind leaders Basingstoke Town.

David Moli earned his first start for the club since signing and stepped in with Lee Angol out through suspension.

Visiting keeper James Russell was forced into an early save when he kept out an effort from Vas Karagiannis.

United went into the match looking for a third successive win but faced an uphill struggle after conceding an early penalty.

Moli picked up the ball in the area after being set up by Matty Whichelow but Ashley Artwell clipped the striker and the referee pointed to the spot.

Luke Garrard made no mistake as he fired Wood in front after just seven minutes.

It did not take long for the away side to extend their lead with a superb finish from Junior Morias.

Garrard sent in a delivery to Morias and he struck a stunning shot which curled into the top corner from 25 yards.

The second goal put Wood in total control and they threatened to add to their tally.

Moli ought to have done better when he missed an open goal but the striker remained a constant threat and was denied by a decent save from Ferhat Aksoy.

United almost pulled one back through Tom Collins but his effort was kept out by Russell.

The home side’s problems increased just before the hour mark when Dan Wishart was given a second yellow card for a challenge on Garrard.

Wood ended the contest seven minutes later when they scored their third of the match.

The hosts were reduced to nine men when Aksoy brought down Moli and veteran keeper Delroy Preddie came on in goal.

Former Watford youngster Whichelow curled a low free-kick past Preddie to leave a demoralised United side on their knees.

The last half hour was pretty forgettable as United avoided a humiliating scoreline with nine men.

Wood have confirmed their home game against Weston-super-Mare has been rescheduled for Monday, November 24 at 7.45pm.

The match was originally due to take place this weekend but has been moved back due to the club’s involvement in the FA Cup.
