I read with dismay the decision by TfL to carry out further trials before switching the signals back on at Stirling Corner.

TfL officials have only to spend a couple of working days looking at the chaos and near misses at this site to form an opinion. Huge delays occur with traffic backing up at all junctions. The cost to our health in particulate emissions and the extra use of fuel need to be considered. I cannot see the reason for a delay and prevarication. The traffic signals are there and can be switched on. Surely the cost of electricity to operate them and the maintenance costs are small price to pay for making this roundabout safer.

Hertsmere Borough Council officers have written to TfL to organise a meeting of stakeholders inc Herts Highways try to change their minds.

I fully support the issues raised by the driving instructors. Indeed Borehamwood Town Council organised the transport forum meeting so they might have their say.
