At a time when the media is heaping scorn and abuse at Tesco stores, I would like to commend them highly in their employment of a most gracious, charming, sales lady in the shape of Sheila, who works in the clothes department.
Extraordinarily, she is nigh on 90 years of age and hails from Shankhill Road in Belfast, a place not normally associated with the most gentile of company.
However, she has spent most of her life in service as a ‘skivvy’, she tells me, working in very fine establishments in Winchester.
We must surely salute this grand lady, who is so happy in her work, whilst not denying praise to the Borehamwood store, which is a credit to the town, in its care and attitude to the people of our community.
