The Broadwalk Centre in Edgware is inviting shoppers to come and celebrate the Jewish New Year with them.
Courtesy of Rabbi Sudak, director of the Lubavitch of Edgware, shoppers visiting the centre from 4pm today and tomorrow will be treated to free apples and honey, which symbolise a “sweet” new year.
The giving out of sweet foods like apple and honey has been a tradition in Rosh Hashannah celebrations for many years and is now widely accepted as a key part of the Jewish New Year.
Rabbi Sudak will also be blowing the shofar at the events for those who haven’t had a chance to hear it yet.
On behalf of everyone at The Broadwalk Centre, I would like to wish our local Jewish visitors Shanah Tovah and look forward to seeing them here on September 25 and 26.

Centre Manager at The Broadwalk Centre
