A RAILFREIGHT terminal between Park Street and London Colney will produce enough noise to disturb sleep for people in the area, an acoustic expert has told the inquiry.

Giving evidence for the council, Simon Stephenson said : “Noise is likely to cause significant sleep disturbance , and give rise to complaints.

“The noise is likely to be variable, including bangs and clatters from containers being handled.”

He said that a noise expert at the previous inquiry had erred in his evidence by not considering the effects of a light down-wind.
