A couple were robbed at knifepoint while walking in Elstree by thieves who made away on mountain bikes.

The husband and wife, both in their 30s, from Watford, were walking down Hartfield Avenue at 12.30pm on Sunday, May 14, when they were approached by two black teenagers who demanded their jewellery.

The robbers then cycled off along Deacon's Hill Road. The couple were left shocked but unhurt.

PC Dave Boden said: "This was a shocking incident. This couple were walking along the street in broad daylight when they when they were approached by the pair."

The first suspect is described as having chubby cheeks, who was clean shaven, of medium build and around 18 years old. He was wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms and was riding a silver mountain bike.

The second suspect was a black man of similar age and build, wearing a dark tracksuit and riding a silver bike.
