Roads, Overground trains and bus services are all expected to be extremely busy today (August 6) as the Tube strike moves in to day two.
All Underground train services stopped running at 6.30pm yesterday and will not resume until tomorrow morning, as union members strike over the upcoming introduction of overnight Tube services.
Yesterday, the Barking Gospel Oak Railway User Group warned commuters in Waltham Forest that Overground stations could face closure due to overcrowding.
Transport for London (TfL) has put an extra 250 buses on the roads today to cope with extra journeys on the network, but services are still expected to be “very busy”.
