Santa's grotto might not be up yet and the carollers have not yet come knocking – but a group of “super slimmers” have already held their first Christmas party.

Members of the High Street Borehamwood Slimming World Group launched their festive weight loss challenge at a special event at community centre 96 Shenley Road on Wednesday.

On top of making their Christmas lists and planning their Christmas shopping, members started a 12-week mission to slim down in time for the festive season.

Their seasonal slim is part of a scheme running in all 12,000 Slimming World groups across the UK and Ireland called Love…a Slimming World Christmas.

Hannah Harman, who runs the Borehamwood group, says: “We threw a cracker of a Christmas party with music and delicious healthy party food.

“We wanted to remind ourselves – and show people who didn’t already know about Slimming World’s fabulous Food Optimising eating plan – that you don’t have to miss out of any of the festive fun when you’re watching your weight.

“It’s simply about making small, easy changes to the way you plan, cook and eat, and choosing the healthiest options when you’re not the one preparing the food and drink.”

People are invited to join in with the group every Wednesdays at 7.30pm at 96 Shenley Road. For more information call Hannah Harman on 07957 164443.
