A drop-in group for the over 65s, and for adults with learning disabilities, organised a day trip to Southend using funding from a county councillor.
Cllr Alan Plancey, councillor for Borehamwood North Division, allocated £500 from his locality budget to fund the Borehamwood Drop-In group’s trip to the seaside.
Councillor Plancey said: “This group gives an opportunity for the more mature members of the community to socialise with their peers.”
A total of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.
Locality budgets were launched in July 2009, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire.
