There is fun for all the family on offer this weekend, at an annual summer fete which includes a medieval fancy dress parade and exhibition football matches.

The Shenley Village Fete will take place on Sunday, on the Harris Lane playing fields from 1.15pm.

Before the fete starts there will be a fancy dress parade through the streets of Shenley, starting in Andrew Close at 12.30pm, before making its way down London Road to the Harris Lane fields.

The parade will have a medieval theme with prizes for the best costumes. There will also be a tent from a medieval re-enactment society, called The Paladins of Chivalry, with displays of combat, music and dance.

The annual event will also include stalls from businesses in the area, pony rides, a bouncy castle, a magic show, live music, a beer tent and food.

There will also be a number of exhibition matches from Borehamwood 2000 FC’s youth teams.
