TWO controversial planning applications to extend a synagogue and build four new homes in Radlett will be decided at a meeting tonight.

Radlett United Synagogue, in Watling Street, wants to demolish a neighbouring garage to make way for a two storey extension to the main building.

The plans have attracted a lot of attention from local residents and the council has received 50 letters of objection and 89 letters in support of the proposal.

A further application in Radlett, to demolish two bungalows and build four new detached houses, has also received letters of objection.

The plans to knock down the semi-detached bungalows in Gills Hill Lane have attracted ten letters against and two in favour of the proposal.

Hertsmere’s planning committee will assess both plans at a meeting tonight at the Civic Offices, in Elstree Way, Borehamwood, from 6pm.
