BIKE riders from Radlett and Shenley participated in a Paris to London charity Bike Ride at the weekend.

The 32 riders rode the journey from Friday to Monday with 10 support crew.

The event was organised by three friends, Paul Krisman and Bernie Gilbey, from Radlett, and Andy Goodman, from Shenley, to raise funds to help their friend Michael Seres, from Radlett, who has suffered from Crohn's disease since he was 12-years-old.

The ride, called Guts in Motion, was sponsored by Hammonds Solicitors and advertising company WPP who covered the costs of staging the ride, allowing all the money raised to go to the charity Crohn's and Colitis in Childhood.

The riders covered a total of 180 miles over the three days and raised £42,000, which will fund a research post into Crohns and Colitis at University College Hospital, in London.

It is hoped the ride will become an annual event.
