The villagers of Letchmore Heath should be proud of their efforts to back Britain's armed forces this week.
Regardless of the politics behind the Iraq conflict and other deployments around the globe, it is imperative that people offer the servicemen and women the support they need after returning from the frontline.The decision earlier this year to stop soldiers wearing their uniforms while off duty in Peterborough was a damning indictment of people's attitude towards our troops.But the actions in our borough were commendable and it can only be hoped similar celebratory scenes are now played out up and down the country.
