Calls for Radlett Fire Station to be reopened continue two years after the decision was made to close it.
Surely this is a clear message to Hertfordshire County Council that campaigners are not willing to walk away quietly.
Even if the council does not change its stance on the station's closure, the 7,000 signatories to the petition deserve a full and frank explanation as to why their demands have not been met.
Until the authority offers a clear and detailed justification of the closure, residents, firefighters and campaigners will not be satisfied.
