Speculation that Borehamwood's village hall project could be under threat is upsetting - but not surprising.
It has already taken more than four decades to demolish the building in readiness for replacing it with a fully-functional community facility. It is unlikely anyone was holding their breath that the rebuilding work would run smoothly. What is most concerning for the town is that the promised and much-needed youth facilities due to be available at the new hall might not materialise.Hertfordshire County Council has a duty to provide for the youth of Borehamwood and should not renege on its agreement.
