Demand is far outstripping supply when it comes to housing.
With hundreds of people in a similar situation to Selena Hovell, who is squeezed into a three-bed house with six others while waiting for a home of her own, the borough is faced with a very worrying problem.
But with objections appearing to nearly all applications for new housing developments rejected, Hertsmere Borough Council has the dilemma of how to provide properties without putting further strain on infrastructure.
With the borough's population ever-increasing, it can only be hoped residents can benefit from quick solutions.
