An arrest has been made after a man was struck with an unknown object and robbed in Borehamwood.

The victim, aged in his late 30s, was walking along Milby Court in Leeming Road when he was approached by two men and struck - causing him to fall to the ground.

Cash and a mobile phone were subsequently stolen.

Police confirmed a 41-year-old man from Borehamwood has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail.

Following the robbery at around 1.45pm on Sunday, November 14, officers appealed for witnesses which they believe included a passing motorist who attempted to intervene.

PC Jay Jeffrey, from the Borehamwood Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured during the incident but it has left him worried and shaken.

“Our enquiries are continuing at this time to trace the suspects, who are thought to be known to the victim."

It is believed numerous people were in the area and witnesses have been urged to contact officers.

“We’re particularly keen to hear from someone who is reported to have exited a passing vehicle and tried to intervene," he added.

"The victim was unable to get a description of them."
