A charity games evening in Radlett has raised almost £1,500 for the national Breast Cancer Campaign.
The event, held on Monday last week at the Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue Hall, Watling Street, was attended by around 90 people who took part in a variety of games including Bridge, Scrabble, Rummikub and Mah Jong.
Debbie Stewart organised the event, whilst undergoing radiotherapy to treat the disease, with help from her children, Daniel, 15, and Toby, 11.
She said: "It was a lovely evening. I was absolutely overwhelmed at the support from the local community, and it's amazing that more than 90 people came.
"October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I wanted to draw attention to that as well as raise money for this cause."
She said that a number of local businesses had donated raffle prizes, which included vouchers for a cut and blow dry, manicure, reflexology treatment, Indian head massage, flowers and £50 vouchers.
Village Estates, Rocket Kids and Radlett Opticians sponsored the synagogue donated its premises for the evening.
