A goods charity has raised a record £18,000 at their annual community fundraising supper quiz.

Goods for Good, based in Borehamwood, donate overstocked goods to people in need in vulnerable communities and countries across the world since it was set up in 2014.

Following the success of the quiz, founder of Goods for Good Rosalind Bluestone said: “Within four hours, with the help of our generous supper guests and corporate sponsors, enough money was donated to send at least four 10-ton trucks filled with everything from nappies and sanitary napkins to toys and blankets to refugees in desperate need of life’s basic necessities.

Borehamwood Times:

“Instead of sending these goods to landfill, they go to those in desperate need. Our goal now is to provide £25million-worth of donated overstocked goods by 2020.”

Among the 34 sponsors of the event were clothing and shoe retailers Dune, NEXT and Regatta; food distributor AGT Poortman, realtor's TARN & TARN, digital marketing agency Cyber-Duck, sustainable water packager CanOWater, lease extension company Lease Extend, and investment and property managers James Andrews International.

Since it started operations the charity has provided over a million refugees overseas with £12 million-worth of donated goods.
