A screening of a new film has raised more than £1,500 towards bringing a group of children from Israel to London.

Around 125 people attended the charity screening of Absolutely Fabulous – The Movie on July 4 at Reel Cinema in Borehamwood.

The event was organised by Hendon-based charity British Emunah which is hoping to bring children from Afula, northern Israel, to London this December.

British Emunah director Deborah Nathan said: “A group of women who had been on an Emunah ‘mother and daughter’ tour plan to host the young people in their homes.

“In Israel Emunah has a network of projects which cater for the needs of children and young people who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or at risk.”
