A woman from Borehamwood is celebrating a milestone in style with a week of parties.
Doris Cranfield turned 100 on May 20 and on Tuesday she visited the Borehamwood drop in centre to show her friends her card from the Queen.
According to friends, Mrs Cranfield has been celebrating her milestone for a whole week.
Carol Jones, a volunteer, said: “Doris is an amazing lady for her age. She is quite a lucky lady.
“To be able to do all that she can for her age is amazing.
“She is well supported by her family and she even baked her own birthday cake for the party.
“I have known her for around 10 to 15 years and she loves to bake and to dance.”
On June 7, the group will be holding an indoor BBQ to celebrate the Queen’s birthday and Mrs Cranfield will be dancing according to her friends.
The Borehamwood drop in centre meets every Tuesday at the Town Hall in Borehamwood and is supported by Hertsmere Borough Council, Borehamwood Town Council and Tesco.
