Two buildings were given a closure order after reports of on-going anti-social behaviour.

Norwich House and Carlisle House, in Borehamwood, were given closure orders at St Albans Magistrates Court last week and both properties owned by same family.

The two residents of the Affinity Sutton properties are not allowed to go to the address for three months and a breach is a criminal offence.

ASB Officer for Hertsmere Claire Morris from Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “We hope this action reassures residents living nearby that we have listened to you and we can, and will, take action against people causing anti-social behaviour.

“The on-going anti-social behaviour, which included shouting and swearing at all hours has had a negative impact on the lives of nearby residents.

“We are here to help solve on-going problems of anti-social behaviour.

“The message is really simple, if you commit crime or anti-social behaviour, we will work with our partner agencies and that includes reviewing tenancy agreements.”

ASB Officer Morris worked closely with PC Ruth Cash of the Borehamwood Neighbourhood Policing Team and with Affinity Sutton and the Community Safety Unit.

PC Cash said: “The anti-social behaviour had been going on for a year and a half affect many peoples’ lives.

“The court had previously issued injunctions for the occupants of Norwich House not to go to Carlisle House but they were breached.

“This means we had to take more drastic action. If anyone sees them breach this court order, please contact the police.”

The closure order on Carlisle House allows the occupants to be there but anyone else at that address is liable to arrest under the legislation.
