SCIENCE students have been learning about the construction industry during a visit to a housing development.

A group of students from Sacred Heart Language College donned their hard hats and wellies as they visited the housing development Artisan Place on Ladysmith Road, Wealdstone.

The 17 girls, aged 13 to 16, are part of a STEM class at the college which focuses on science, technology, engineering and maths.

One of the students, Nicole Kozlowska, said: “It was an exciting opportunity to visit a Barratt Homes construction site and we learnt many things.

“We got the chance to go inside the show houses and flats and as the site is not yet finished we got to understand what goes on before the development process is finished.”

During the visit, sales manager Bradley Martin and assistant site manager Josh Carpenter spent time chatting to the students about the process of building new homes, careers in the construction industry and how the homes are made energy efficient.
