A politician joined her party’s supporters to celebrate Hanukkah.
Louise Ellman, MP for Liverpool Riverside, joined 50 supporters at Hertsmere Labour Party’s first annual Chanukah celebration.
Rabbi Chaim Kanterowitz, of Borehamwood and Elstree United Synagogue, lit the Hanukkah candles, while Louise Ellman outlined Labour’s approach to key policy issues including health, transport and local Government funding.
She also spoke about her work as chair of the Jewish Labour Movement, launching a new Hertsmere branch of JLM at the event.
The celebration was hosted by Labour’s Hertsmere Borough Council candidates for the Borehamwood Brookmeadow Ward in next May’s election, Sam Lishak, Rebecca Schapira and Jeremy Newmark.
