Summerswood Primary School in Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, and Woodlands Primary School in Alban Crescent, Borehamwood, and Fair Field Junior School in Watford Road, Radlett sent their top two boys and girls to take part in the National Young Mathematicians' Awards at the Explore Learning Centre in Borehamwood Shopping Park last week.
The winners from across the country went through to the final round at Cambridge University.
Centre director Bryony Marshall said: “Although none of our schools made it through to the final stage, they all did fantastically well and displayed great enthusiasm and teamwork.
"Our regional winners were Summerswood, although again it was a very close call.”
