A primary school has been harvesting food to donate to the Borehamwood Foodbank.
Pupils at St Teresa’s School, in Brook Road, held a service yesterday to display all the food they had collected for the Borehamwood Foodbank as part of the school’s celebrations for harvest.
Father Dominic McKenna, the parish priest St Teresa's church, and Kristan Payne, chairman and trustee of the Borehamwood Foodbank, joined the service to thank the children for their donations.
Headteacher Teresa McBride said: “Last month our school council reps visited the Borehamwood Foodbank and acted as volunteers, helping to weigh and label food donations.
"Our school council then reported back to the rest of the school on their visit and we then launched our harvest collection, which was well supported by our school community.”
Kristan Payne thanked the children and their parents for their generosity in helping people of Borehamwood who use the service.
