A one-month old pony has been stolen from a stable in Aldenham.

Police have now released images of the Shetland pony in an attempt to locate him and identify the person or people who have taken him.

The foal, called Cecil, was stolen from a stable at a house in Summerhouse Lane, between 7pm on Thursday evening and 7am this morning.

PC John Phelan is investigating the case. He said: “Cecil is very small and would be very distressed to be away from his mother and the safe environment the stable offers.

“Likewise, Cecil’s owner is absolutely distraught with worry. Cecil is a very distinctive pony and I would urge anyone who believes they know of his location to contact me immediately.

“Anyone who remembers seeing anything unusual or suspicious between yesterday evening and this morning in the area of Summerhouse Lane should also contact me as they may have information that can assist our investigation.”

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact PC Phelan via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101.
