Five firefighters had to pull an elderly couple from a ditch on Friday after they fell while trying to get off a bus.

A woman had been pushing her husband, who is in a wheelchair, off the bus opposite Morrisons, on Stirling Way, when the accident happened

The couple had reversed the wheelchair down a ramp off the bus when it gathered speed, causing them to fall into a ditch.

Both were taken to hospital following the incident with minor injuries.
