BBC Studios made a £3million loss this year after a series of studio relocations.

According to an annual report, the company has made £29m in sales from its new locations at Elstree and Ruislip but has seen an operational loss of £3million.

The BBC described 2013 as a “transformational year” for BBC Studios and Post Production following its move from Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush to sites at Elstree Studios and South Ruislip.

The report said: “A level of loss was always budgeted for this year of relocation and changing operations and is being funded through S&PP cash reserves which were retained in anticipation.”

The studios announced that the move back to the Television Centre will be put back until 2017, meaning shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and The Voice will remain at Elstree Studios for at least another two years.

Not to worry - it's only TV Poll Tax money - there's a never ending supply! Any commercial media company that made a £3m loss would probably remove the CEO/Chairman or have to make cuts etc.
