Prizes awarded for best carnival entries

Prizes for the best carnival entries have been announced by Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council.

The first prize float went to Kenilworth School, whose "Holby City" won the school £250.

The judges awarded joint second prize to Hertsmere Mencap's "Let's Go To The Movies" themed float and Saffron Green School with "Moby Dick".

They were both awarded £100, with the cash difference being made up by an anonymous donation.

The First Prize for the walking entry was awarded to Hertsmere Academy of Dance, with "Roger Rabbit" cartoon characters, who have won £75.

Second Prize of £50 went to Hare Krishna with "Food For All", while third prize of £25 has been awarded to Elstree and Borehamwood Light Operatic Society with "Dracula and His Brides".

What a shame the Local Newspaper do not feel The 1st prize winners of the float parade don't deserve their photo to be published in this weeks edition. Very disappointing Borehamwood Times.
