A young girl is to open the newest Keech Hospice Care charity shop in Radlett.

Georgia Leonard, aged seven and from Radlett, is a patient at the hospice and will open the store at its launch on Friday, May 2.

She has suffered from multiple conditions since birth, including a heart condition and Myocardiopathy which affects her muscle tone.

Georgia’s mum Claire said: "I think Keech is a really important place, especially since it covers such a big area and looks after so many children. It means the world to all the families who come here. I know there are lots of local families that really rely on Keech and who need it desperately so it’s a great cause to put money towards.

"Georgia is very excited to be opening the new shop and has told all her friends about the opening. This is just one more way that we can make more amazing memories with Georgia."

This will be the hospice’s 18th shop in Hertfordshire and will sell the usual charity shop items along with quality clothes and gifts.

All money raised will go towards providing support for children and adults diagnosed with life-limiting or terminal illnesses.

Lana Wozencraft , Radlett shop manager, said: "I am so excited to be involved in this new shop opening. When you shop at this great new store or any one of our charity shops you can feel good knowing the proceeds from your purchases are going directly to support children in your local community.

"We depend on hundreds of volunteers to help out in our shops, so if you have any unwanted items or a few hours to spare please think of us and visit the new shop – or even just pop to grab yourself a bargain!"

The shop will be officially opened at Watling Street on Friday, May 2 at 10:30am.
