A muscle man who plans to complete ten sport challenges for charity raised more than £800 at a quiz night.
Ben Pirie, of Buckton Road, Borehamwood, hosted the evening at The Three Crowns, in Bushey Heath, which more than 70 people attended.
The 24-year-old is taking part in a London to Paris cycle, the 2014 London, Paris and New York Marathons, London to Brighton and two Iron Man challenges.
He hopes to raise £10,000 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Haven House Children’s Hospice, in Woodford.
He said: "Back in January I had an idea to take on a big challenge to raise money for a good cause. After visiting Haven House and seeing the amazing facilities they provide and the difference they make to the lives of local children and their families, I knew straight away that I wanted to help.
"It is going to be a very tough year of training and commitment, but it will be worth every mile if I manage to reach my target of £10,000 for Haven House."
