A hair and beauty salon turned pink for the day to raise funds for a breast cancer charity.

Cropz, based in Manor Way, Borehamwood, cut prices by half and also offered customers tea, cupcakes and pizza from Tescos and Morrisons to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

There was also a collection tin at the counter and Breast Cancer Care ribbons for sale.

The idea to raise money for the charity came about by Cropz manager Fariba Amini, who lost one of her close friends to the illness.

Ms Amini’s friend and business partner Kay Bigy said: “There are charities for children’s hospital and Africa but breast cancer is hurting lots of people and we felt we should do our bit for Breast Cancer Care.”

Ms Bigy hoped that £1,000 would be raised for Breast Cancer Care by the end of the day. As well as allocating one day for breast cancer, Cropz may fundraise for other charities as well.
