Borehamwood County Councillor gives grant to Road Victims Trust
A charity that supports the families of those killed on Hertfordshire’s roads has been given funding to help it continue its work.
Hertfordshire County Council’s representative for Borehamwood South, Councillor Alan Plancey, has awarded the Roads Victims Trust a grant of £500 out of his locality budget.
The charity, which operates in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, supports people who have witnessed a fatal road accident or who have lost family members and friends in car crashes.
Cllr Plancey’s grant will be used to train and support volunteers who give free emotional, practical and legal advice and counselling to victims’ families.
He said: “This grant will give care and compassion to those who are suffering. It is important as a society we do our best to help those who have undergone tragedy move forward and return to normal life.”
