Stuffed polar bears, golden angels and a giant topiary peacock are among the latest additions to a reality television show.
The set of Celebrity Big Brother at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood has been transformed into a sumptuous palace ready for the launch of the new series in January.
A sweeping marble staircase dominates the house, and celebrity contestants will be able to lounge on gilded sofas covered with leopard skin throws while they use the light from candelabras and chandeliers to gaze at their reflections in the many mirrors.
The bedrooms have also been given a makeover with beds draped in silk sheets and resplendant with gilded sofas.
Topiary animals in the shape of animals and birds are scattered throughout the garden and the outdoor bathroom has been transformed into a luxury smoking area complete with golden lions.
