Children from a Radlett school will be giving a little Christmas cheer to soldiers on the front line.

Fair Field School in Watford Road joined others across Hertfordshire to design pictures based on the theme of "What I like most about Christmas".

The drawings have been sent to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, where they will be hung in soldiers' tents for the servicemen and women to choose the winners.

Regimental Sergeant Major Graham Miller, who received the artwork, said: “I know from experience on the front line how much messages of encouragement like this mean to the troops.

“Seeing all the work put into this competition by so many children makes it hard to choose a winner because I know to the service personnel all of these are winners.”
