A charity will run a new community centre in Borehamwood when it opens its doors later this month.
The new centre at 96 Shenley Road, due to open on Monday, November 18 will be managed by Hertsmere Leisure.
The building will offer a new library, museum and services for young people run by Youth Connexions.
It will also house a large hall which can be used as a theatre for concerts and other events such as wedding receptions.
Ian Pluck, Hertsmere Leisure’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Hertfordshire County Council to operate 96 Shenley Road on behalf of all the partners behind this exciting project.
“We are a local charitable trust with a wealth of expertise in the leisure industry.
“We look forward to contributing to the success of this new community venture by ensuring the building is effectively maintained and managed to support all the activities taking place there.”
There will be a phased opening from 18 November with full opening hours for all facilities from 2 January 2014.
