Scenes at last year's festival
A samba and Brazilian-style carnival will kick off the 57th annual Elstree and Borehamwood civic festival this afternoon.
Colourful costumes and lively music will light up a parade that leaves the Brook Road car park at 1.45pm.
The carnival will mark the start of week packed full of activities and events celebrating everything on offer in the town and village.
Highlights include a classic car show in Meadow Park this afternoon between 1pm and 5pm and a summer fiesta by the BBC Elstree Concert band at the Ark Theatre on Monday evening.
