Trip to Borehamwood's twin town near Paris, Fontenay-aux-Roses
People looking to bring a bit of culture into their lives are invited to visit the borough’s twin town in France.
The trip, organised by the Borehamwood and Elstree Twin Town Association (BETTA), will be in May and aims to give travellers a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
During their stay, people will be visiting Borehamwood’s twin town in France, Fontenay-aux-Roses, near Paris and will have the chance to meet the Mayor and local residents.
Chairman of the association, Martine Eni, said: “It really is a once in a lifetime trip - people will get the chance to see Paris by night and I am really looking forward it.
“People do not have to speak any French for the trip and it is a good opportunity to learn something interesting about another culture.
“It is very cheap so perfect for people who do not usually have the opportunity to go abroad, but there are only 100 spaces so people need to book their tickets quickly.
“The trip is very important for the community because we must continue to rebuild links to our French twin town.”
The ticket price for the three day trip - which starts on May 24 - will be £150. This will include travel, bed and breakfast and entrance to a trip to Versailles and people will also be given the chance to visit Paris’s iconic shopping streets.
The aim of the association is to form connections with Borehamwood’s twin towns - including Offenburg, in south-west Germany near Strasbourg.
