Northchurch 198-9 (53 overs).

Shenley Village 90-0 (18.3 overs).

Result: Match Abandoned - Rain.

For the third time in a period of four weeks, Shenley Village were frustrated by the rain as the penultimate match of the season ended in an abandonment.

Bottom placed Northchurch won the toss and elected to bat first on a then warm and sunny day. Openers Pearce and Hatt made a solid start before Shenley captain Jemile Al-Darraji bowled Hatt for 38. Thereafter batting was more difficult for Northchurch, as a steady stream of wickets fell despite 62 from Pearce. Al-Darraji plugged away throughout the innings, taking 5-58 from his 20 overs and Craig Rawlings finished with figures of 3-56 from his 18. Despite only one batsman passing 50, Northchurch survived their 53 overs and finished on 198-9.

In reply, openers Anooj Vadgama and Nauman Saqeb got off to a flying start, with Vadgama reaching his 50 before the rain came lashing down after 18.3 overs and the match was abandoned with Shenley on 90 without loss.

Both teams took 10 points from the match and the result leaves Shenley in eighth place, ahead of the final match of the season next week - away against Harpenden II.
