A Borehamwood teenager has joined the Hertfordshire County Darts U18 squad.
Following a good performance at a singles competition held in Stevenage in June, 17-year-old Danny Digweed, was asked by the county selector if he would like to play for Hertfordshire.
Danny, who lives in Theobald Street, Borehamwood, accepted the offer and will make his first appearance as a Herts player on October 14, at a tournament in Welwyn Garden City.
The teenager has been playing darts since he was 12. Currently he plays for the Borehamwood branch of the Royal British Legion and Stevenage Borough Council.
Danny wants to become a professional darts player, and playing for the county is the first step on that road.
Danny's mother, Maisie Digweed who plays for the Royal British Legion, said: "We're very proud of him. He puts in a lot of practice."
