A group of Borehamwood martial artists from the Tigers Shotokan Karate Club received their new belts last week.
The proud group were awarded their belts by club sensei Kevin O'Sullivan following a recent grading.
Thomas Freeman, aged five, received a blue belt tenth kyu, as did his sister Rebecca. Victoria Stopps also received a blue belt. Frank Harrison and David Poulton were awarded orange belt ninth kyu.
Bill Moody, a senior member of the club based at Kenilworth School, Kenilworth Drive, was presented with an orange belt ninth kyu. His daughter Steph Moody received her red belt eighth kyu.
Jodie Walker, Ben Moody, Chloe Poulton and Samuel Gardner were presented with their yellow belts. Daniel Murray, Michaela Shannon and Laura Nicholas received green belts.
Brian Walker, whose daughter Jodie was awarded with her yellow belt, said: "She was over the moon, really excited. She's done exceptionally well and I reckon she will get the black belt."
Club sensei Kevin O'Sullivan, a former boxer, praised all his students' efforts and dedication.
