Boreham Wood have announced two new signings ahead of the 2019/20 Vanarama National League campaign.

Goalkeeper David Gregory has linked up with the side following his release from league counterparts Bromley, while Justin Shaibu, a loanee at the club last season, has re-joined on a season-long loan from Brentford.

Upon his release from Crystal Palace in 2016, Gregory joined Cambridge United, but he was limited to just one appearance for the side due to the performances of Will Norris.

He then moved onto non-league Bromley and established himself as a fan favourite in his first season at the club, keeping 20 clean sheets and playing at Wembley in the FA Trophy final.

On the signing, manager Luke Garrard told the club website: “I am delighted to have secured David’s signature. He comes to us having spent the last two years with Bromley making more than 90 appearances over that period. During his time there he was a pivotal player who was instrumental in Bromley reaching the FA Trophy final in 2018 and competing for a play-off place both seasons.”

Meanwhile, Shaibu once again joins from Brentford, where the Denmark youth international has made a handful of senior appearances.

He was part of the Wood squad last season that competed in the National League, scoring nine league goals and 15 in all competitions.

Shaibu told the club website: “I was very pleased when I got the call to say that I had an opportunity to come back here and play minutes and help the team, I am very happy to be here.

“The boss has said that I have got an opportunity to come here and get some game time and that if I perform, then I will play a lot of minutes.

“I think that the style of play here suits me, so I am just very pleased to be here.”
