Bruno Andrade has thanked Boreham Wood after departing the club to join League Two side Lincoln City on a two-year contract.

The striker established himself as a firm favourite during his time with the Wood and has chosen to move to City after receiving multiple offers from within the Football League.

He took to twitter to thank the club for the opportunity they have given him as well as wishing them good fortune in the future.

He said: “My time at Boreham Wood has come to an end. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

“I want to thank everyone associated with the club for making me feel welcome.

“I’ve made good memories which will stay with me. Wishing the club all the best next season.”

Andrade was a key member of the Boreham Wood squad which made it to the National League play-off finals While the clash with Tranmere Rovers ended in the disappointment of a 2-1 defeat, Andrade was still able to create one last memory as he found the net at Wembley.

He will now be charged with helping Lincoln improve on the League Two play-off semi-final berth they secured last season.

The Portuguese in confident he will have the quality to thrive in English football’s third tier despite previously struggling at League Two level.

He told the City website: “I dropped down a league to the conference but I knew my ability would get me in the Football League and I’m grateful to Lincoln for the opportunity.

“It’s good to be here, the first impressions are good and that’s the main thing. You can see this club is on the up, and I want to be part of it.”

Returning to matters at Meadow Park, Boreham Wood have announced their pre-season schedule ahead of the 2018/19 campaign getting underway.

The Wood will play all of their pre-season matches at home and have managed to attract some big names as opposition.

They start with the visit of Brentford on Friday, July 6 (7.30pm) before Unai Emery brings an Arsenal XI to Meadow Park eight days later for a 3pm kick-off.

Wimbledon follow on Saturday, July 28 for another 3pm start before Wood finish their preparations for the season with the visit of a Crystal Palace XI on Tuesday, July 31 (7.30pm).
