Boreham Wood fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sutton United in the National League at Gander Green Lane.
The hosts started the brighter of the two with Craig Eastmond and Maxime Biamou both testing Grant Smith in the Wood goal.
Sutton finally broke the deadlock in the 31st minute when a long ball from Jamie Collins was headed on by Adam Coombes to Biamou to rifle home from 15 yards.
United keeper Will Puddy rescued the hosts just before the break as he made a great save by denying Bruno Andrade.
Smith was the busier of the two goalkeepers in the second half but he did well to push efforts from Coombes and Roarie Deacon round the post.
This result meant Boreham Wood now sit 13th in the table on 43 points.
