Is Snapchat down?

As reports about a potential outage continue to rise, Snapchat is asking those affected to send a direct message to the official Twitter account @snapchat support.

Replying to one affected user, a spokesperson for Snapchat said: "Hey. Let's see how we can help. Send us a DM with some details on what’s happening and we'll take it from there."

One Snapchat user said: "My premium Snapchat is not logging in."

Snapchat, a popular app used by thousands of people across the globe, is used for sending pictures and messages with a short time limit on viewing.

Another said: "Unable to log in to Snapchat. Repeated error message “Please verify your connection and try again” @snapchatsupport #snapchat."

One user posted on Twitter: "I got locked out of my Snapchat for NO reason??? help me get back in."
