New PS5 stock dropped in the UK at Argos this morning.

The store released a batch of new consoles, but customers have been struggling to purchase them.

The Playstation 5 remains the most sought-after gadget on the planet right now with gamers desperately trying to get their hands on a new console.

Since its November 2020 release, Brits have found it nearly impossible to find Sony’s latest gaming console.

PS5 stock at Argos

New stock was released at Argos this morning, but it has caused some confusion, with customers not knowing whether or not the PS5s have sold out.

An insider Twitter account is claiming that the confusion could be due to the amount of traffic on the website.

After alerting its followers to the new Argos PS5 stock this morning, it clarified why some customers may be having difficulty purchasing from the store.

It said: “We've learned from our sources that the Argos app/website will tell you the PS5 is out of stock if their online servers are receiving too much traffic, so, it will show that the console is in stock once they believe their online server can handle it.”

PS5 stock at Game and Amazon

The Argos stock drop comes a day after similar releases at Amazon and Game sold out quickly yesterday morning.

Demand for the consoles has been so great that Game has set up an anti-scalping policy to stop people bulk buying and profiteering from the desire for a PS5.

It said: “PlayStation 5's continue to be in very high demand and that demand far outweighs current supply.

“We have strong measures in place to help ensure that our ‘1 per customer’ statement is maintained to allow for as many individual customers to successfully purchase as possible.

“All pre-orders are subject to automatic checks.

“Order updates take place after a customer will have received a valid order confirmation email.

“At the present time these orders are still pre-orders and as such no payments have yet been taken from customers.

“Payments will commence once our order checks have been completed.”
