A COUNCILLOR from Harrow accused of attempted theft pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court yesterday.
Councillor David Gawn, who represents Harrow-on-the-Hill ward, denied a charge of attempted theft at Hendon Magistrates' Court.
The national Labour Party has suspended Mr Gawn from Harrow Council's Labour Group until the matter is resolved.
Mr Gawn was first elected to council on the Marlborough ward in May 2006.
He is also chairman and a director of Harrow Community Radio, based at the Wealdstone Centre, in High Street, Wealdstone.
Mr Gawn is to next appear in court for a hearing on February 23.
