Regarding the meeting of residents at the Three Ways Community Centre (‘Political rivals clash over social club bar’, Borehamwood & Elstree Times, September 16), Morris Bright has once again missed the point.

The only person playing politics is him. He is trying to distract from the real issue — Hertsmere borough Council’s complete failure to engage with the residents.

Those attending the meeting were angry and disappointed that once again no-one from the council was available to explain what was happening to their community centre.

Since April when Hertsmere Borough Council took back the lease no-one has known what was going on. There have been many rumours but no facts and no attempt by the council to find out what local users and residents want.

My only objective when elected in May has been to try to determine what the Tory administration was planning and to promote the views of residents — if this is playing politics — I confess.

Yes politics is about supporting local residents and working to improve our community.
