A NURSE at Barnet Hospital is adding a touch of glamour to her working week after being chosen as a technical adviser on BBC drama Holby City.
Rachel Carter, 34, an agency nurse in the acute recovery team at the hospital in Wellhouse Lane, will use her experience to help out on the award-winning medical drama.
She will juggle her hospital work with her role on the show, which involves setting up props and advising the actors.
The drama is filmed over an eight-month period at the BBC's Elstree Studios in Borehamwood and Rachel fits in work at Barnet Hospital's day surgery around shooting schedules.
She said: "It's a different thing to do. Advising in a pretend hospital and then working in a real one gives me plenty of variety and makes my working life very interesting."
Rachel, who has also appeared on screen as a scrubs nurse, added: "It's not as glamorous as it sounds, but it's been the opportunity of a lifetime."
